"Liverpool Hospital is principal referral teaching hospital and trauma facility for South Western Sydney. Bankstown, Fairfield, Campbelltown/Camden and Bowral Hospitals are networked to Liverpool Hospital to provide a tertiary hospital service for all patients within this Local Health District and beyond.

With the completion of Stage Two hospital redevelopment, Liverpool Hospital will have the capacity for 875 beds, 23 operating rooms and 60 Intensive Care beds, making Liverpool Hospital the largest hospital in Australia.

18 bariatric rooms and 44 bed spaces have had Guldmann GH3 lifting modules installed to a H track system by Healthcare Lifting Services. HLS healthcare have been supportive and consultative throughout installation and post occupancy follow up. The over head lifting system has assisted in changing culture associated with hazardous manual tasks and has been integral to implementing processes around the management of the bariatric patient.

Since installing these systems the number of presentations of bariatric patients has increased however the number of manual handling injuries and in particular, those associated with managing bariatric patients, has decreased.

If you require any further information or support I would be only too happy to assist."
